David Harlow Call died on October 14, 2025. He was born on January 25, 1938, in Longview, WA to Harlow Alonzo and Dorothy Fay (Marsters) Call.
After preparing at Arcata High School in Arcata, CA, David, a member of the Harvard College Class of 1960 and Adams House, earned his A.B. degree concentrating in Government. He received his J.D. degree from Stanford University in 1964.
David began his law career as an Associate at Ely, Guess, Rudd & Havelock, Anchorage, AK 1964-1965 and continued as an Assistant United State Attorney, United States Department of Justice, Fairbanks, AK, 1965-1966; partner, Yeager & Call, Fairbanks, AK, 1966-1967; and partner, Call, Barrett & Burbank, Fairbanks, AK, since 1967 until his retirement.
David was a member the Personnel Board, State of Alaska, 1993-1994; Board of Directors Steese Area Volunteer Fire Department, Fairbanks, 1993-1996; Member Alaska Bar Association (Board of Governors 1970-1973, vice president 1973, Professionalism award 1995); and Tanana Valley Bar Association (president 1976).
David’s interests included travel, organ and piano, choir, canoeing, versifying.
David married Shelly Jean Gruslin Blake in 1961. They had three children -- Steven, Leah and Blake.
