Bradley R. Pohlig

Bradley R. Pohlig, 83, of Cuba, New York, passed away January 13, 2022, after a lengthy illness. He was born May 10, 1938, in Olean, New York, to Ralph Colomy and Helen Swanson. He was later adopted by his stepfather, Walter Pohlig, and lived with Walter and Helen in Bolivar, New York.

Bradley attended Bolivar Central School and graduated valedictorian in 1956. Bradley was an accomplished high school athlete. He was a member of the five-year, undefeated Bolivar varsity football team. He went on to play football for and graduate with an A.B., majoring in economics, from Harvard College where he was a member of Winthrop House and the Harvard Class of 1960. In lieu of attending Cornell Law School, he entered the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant.

Bradley worked in Buffalo, Rochester and New York City in sales, marketing and advertising. He operated the Pohlig Agency for 35 years.

Bradley served on the Alfred (New York) University School of Business Board of Directors.

Bradley is survived by his wife, Sally; son, Tab (Marcia) Loftis of Cuba; daughter, Patricia (Christopher) Pohlig-Dickman of Buffalo; three grandsons, Chadwick Loftis of San Diego, Calif., Dr. Colin Loftis of Phoenix, Ariz. and Liam Ainslie of Buffalo; and a cousin, Sandra (Joe) Heister of Olean.
