Cyrus Winthrop Brown, II

On Thursday, January 27, 2022, Cyrus Winthrop Brown, II passed away in Salem, Oregon. He was with his long-time partner and love, Ruth Cook.

Cyrus was born March 11, 1938 in Hartford, Connecticut and prepared at The Loomis School in Windsor, Connecticut. At Harvard College, where he was a member of Dunster House, Cyrus majored in Engineering and Applied Physics, graduating with the Class of 1960 with an A.B.

As many of you know, Cyrus battled with Parkinson’s Disease for the last thirty years, but his doctors were constantly amazed by how well he managed his condition and extended his life.

It was a life filled with adventure. He traveled well into his 70s and 80s. He loved to play bridge, to sing, and to visit new places. He never let his physical limitations stop him. He lived a big and happy life.

An organ concert will be held January 28, 2023 @ 4:00 PM at Harvard’s Memorial Church to celebrate Cyrus’s life. The concert will be livestreamed on YouTube at:
