Tim Leland and 50 Years of Spotlight

Our own Tim Leland, in 1970, established the Spotlight Team, the Boston Globe’s renowned and extraordinarily successful (winner of several Pulitzer Prizes) investigative journalism venture. Most of you are familiar with the 2015 movie, “Spotlight,” which won the 2016 Academy Award for best motion picture of the year.  To mark the 50th anniversary of the Spotlight Team, the Globe published a special edition of the Sunday magazine last fall covering the team's highlights over the past five decades. Please visit the following link to access a PDF of the magazine: https://h1960.classes.harvard.edu/images.html?file_id=XQcMTTJkAyA%3D. In addition, the September 22 – 24, 2021 Globe Summit, the inaugural series of speakers, thought leaders and conversations that drive our region, included an hour-long event entitled “From Watergate to Spotlight.”  Jim Braude moderated a panel of four distinguished Spotlight Team members, including Patricia Wen, the current Spotlight Team Editor.
