William M. Wexler

William Marshall Wexler, age 82, of Sewall’s Point, FL, passed away on February 14, 2021 after a brief illness in Stuart, FL. He had been a resident at Discovery Village of Stuart for the past year. William was born in New Haven, CT on November 23, 1938 to Isadore L. and Leanor D. (Lipscher) Wexler.

William prepared at Hillhouse High School in New Haven prior to attending Harvard College where he was a member of Lowell House and from which he graduated in 1960 with an S.B. in biology. William received his medical degree from Yale Medical School in 1965. He practiced otolaryngology in Rhode Island in private practice and at the VA Medical Center in Providence, RI. He was a Captain in the Army during the Korean conflict. William retired to Florida in 2010, settling on the treasure coast. He became a naturalist, a birder, and volunteered at the Manatee Center (Fort Pierce, FL) for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Aurelio Wexler, his sister, Ruth Wexler of Cambridge, MA, his step-son, Robert Sheldon of Hope Valley, RI, his grand-daughter, Amanda Sheldon, and his grandson, Christopher Sheldon, both residents of Florida.
