George Gingold honors Joshua Bell

George Gingold reports that, in May, he was the honorary chairman of, and featured speaker at a fund-raising dinner of the Music Institute of Chicago. The Music Institute, one of the largest and most respected community music schools in the nation, was honoring renowned American violinist Joshua Bell. George and his wife, Anne have known Joshua since he was twelve, as he studied with George’s father. Over 500 people paid $550/plate just to be at the dinner, and they raised over $800,000 for the night. “Certainly the largest crowd ever to hear me speak. It was fun! We were joined by John and Sally Garrison who spent several days showing us around Chicago, where they had lived for thirteen years.”
