Lance Wayne Riley died in October 1999. He was born August 25, 1938 in Virginia, Minnesota. He prepared at Burbank High School, Burbank, California. A resident of Eliot House, he earned an A.B. magna cum laude in physics in 1960. Reportedly, he was awarded a scholarship to study at the University of Munich under Werner Heisenberg and went on to receive an M.B.A. from Stanford and a Ph.D. from Berkeley. Reportedly, he was an officer of Instinet, a broker-dealer in New York.
