Bruce Stephen Brown

Bruce Stephen Brown died on May 16, 2016.

He was the loving husband of Anita Kalusin, devoted father of Laura and David Vexler, Eric and Gabrielle Brown, doting grandfather of Caroline, Jonathan and Zachary Vexler, and Luca and Jasper Brown, steadfast brother of James and Barbara Brown.

Bruce graduated from the McBurney School, Harvard College in 1960 where he majored in economics and was a member of Dunster House, and Fordham Law School.

He had a long and successful career as a tax attorney and CPA, and was highly respected in his field of Corporate and International Taxation. He was a member of the Board of Philip Morris Capital Corporation. Bruce successfully structured the tax department of Altria, creating a new design to efficiently operate throughout years of acquisitions and divestitures, which served as a model for other corporations. He was always loyal to the company and his staff, as they were to him.

Although proud of his professional career, Bruce always felt his greatest achievement was his wonderful family. As a dear friend wrote, "We have lost a quiet anchor for the family, and a person to emulate. He was a mensch, who thought carefully before he spoke. Somebody who tried his best to be a decent human being."
