Daniel Bailey Odom

Daniel Bailey Odom, born in San Diego on August 6, 1937 to William P. Odom and Ruth Elizabeth (Correll) Odom, passed away in Burlington, Massachusetts on November 9, 2017 after a period of declining health. Daniel was a resident of Watertown, Massachusetts.

He prepared at El Cajon High School in El Cajon, California and earned his A.B. in physics in 1961 from Harvard College where he was a member of Adams House and the Harvard Class of 1960.

Daniel worked as an electrical engineer for 44 years at Raytheon where his research included advances in radar, communications technology and high-altitude physics.

Daniel enjoyed swing dancing (award winner), boating (his boat was a very fast, ocean-going, hydrofoil kept near Plymouth, Massachusetts), and bowling. He was also an avid marathon runner; completing (gold medallion), among others, the 100th Boston Marathon in 1996. and the 26.2-mile feat at the age of 70.

Daniel married Loretta Breton in 1969; they had two sons Christopher M. (1970) and Scott W. (1973. Daniel was the grandfather of Ethan G. Odom & Hailey M. Odom.
