News from Stanley Brown

Greetings, classmates!

1) In January 2007, we moved from Southold, NY (on the North Fork of the East End of Long Island), where we had lived for more than 30 years, a few miles to New Suffolk, a small village on the Peconic Bay. We have plenty of room for visitors, and a lovely view of the creek and marsh, and would be delighted to see friends. Contact me at stanleybrown@post.harvard.edu

2) At the end of May 2007, I retired as Editorial Director of the American Physical Society. I continue to do a small amount of editing from my home as a consultant, and help out with occasional other projects. I wouldn't want to do more, and wonder how I got anything done when I worked full time.

3) In February 2008, our daughter Liorah, age 34, died after a year- long struggle with adrenal cancer (a rare and usually fatal cancer). Her positive spirit and determination for most of the year was amazing to watch, but eventually the disease was just too strong. She leaves her husband Matt and twin children Ariel and Perry, 3 years old, who fortunately live just 10 minutes from our home.
