Peter Angus Morgan

Peter Angus Morgan, 74, sadly passed away suddenly on 4/3/2013 at his home in Scotia, NY. Known by his immediate family as Angus, he was born in Locust Valley, L.I. on October 28, 1938.

He was the son of the late Henry S. and Catherine (Adams) Morgan and the great-grandson of J. Pierpont Morgan.

Peter attended St Bernard's School, Groton, Harvard College 1956-57, Adelphi College 1959-1961 and received an Associate of Arts degree in automotive technology from the State University of New York Agricultural and Technical College at Farmingdale in 1963.

He then served in the Navy until 1970, working as a mechanical operator and lab technician on nuclear submarines.

Peter spent his career at General Electric, for twelve years with the heat transfer unit and, then, with the cryogenic branch working with superconducting magnets.

After his retirement, he donated much of his time with Habitat of Humanity.

Predeceased by a brother Henry S. Morgan Jr., Peter is survived by his other siblings, Charles F. Morgan (Sally), Miles Morgan and John A. Morgan (Connie) as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Services were held in Schenectady, NY. He was laid to rest in the family plot at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, CT. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Peter Angus Morgan's memory to Habitat for Humanity.
